Character opinion bingo -> Melissa Shield?

Melissa is cool!

I think had horikoshi had an original plan in mind for her, her character would have really shined.

Through her character, you could have had someone who parallels mei, izuku and through her, we could also explore how quirkless discrimination could work and Melissa's own goals after her father is arrested for illegal activities.

We've got Sam as Poison Ivy, Cody as Aquaman because the boy has no sense of subtlety, and Jess as the smallest Clark Kent.

Wonderful small details I would like everyone to see and appreciate: Sam's shirt is an inside-out sweater of her mom's because she didn't have a plain green shirt, she attempted to curl her hair like Uma Thurman but got annoyed with it quick hence the ponytail

Cody's got gardening gloves and a fridge-alphabet-magnet A on his belt buckle

Jess is wearing his slightly-too-small suit jacket from homecoming two years prior

This is of course from the senior year homecoming episode!

As usual, this is episode 106, if you are new to the story it will make very little sense so I would start at the top lol

Hm. Now I have this urge to write more on what I think Moran’s and Godfrey’s dynamic could be like.

Because the idea of a literal hitman/assassin working with a well respected by the book (tho not completely) lawyer, both of who love and are loyal to their partners, is really interesting to me.

Like seriously! How come no Sherlock Holmes adaptation see vision yet, you’d think that with shows like ‘Suits’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ Sherlock adaptations would be open to interpreting Godfrey Norton? (NOT WRITING A NEW CHARACTER, I SWEAR, GODFREY IS RIGHT THERE!!!)

Back to Moran and Godfrey, I think they’re such fun characters to write about, and together would make such an amazing chaotic duo. I’ll write down some ideas I’ve had and post it later, I don’t want this being too long.

What do you think abt pro!touya who is like the residential playboy or bad boy hero pining after/being flirty with the reader who’s also well known and in hero work but not necessarily a hero. Maybe like a hero support item engineer or even the president of a newly reformed hero commission (technically his boss 🤨 🤷🏾‍♀️). I imagine the press would be in a hullabaloo about it, the tabloids would be going CRAZY. And maybe Endeavor isn’t happy abt it but that’s just the cherry on top of it all😋🤭

SHINA!!! I’ll try to avoid using terms I’ve used before because I feel like that would give me away immediately BUT.

Goodness. Where do I even START?? You are so incredibly cool and such a kind and sweet person to talk to??? You always ALWAYS have something nice to say it seems, and you do not hesitate to say those things. I’ve seen you pop off with so many random in depth compliments to people that absolutely make their days. Oftentimes it’s after people post a work of theirs, but I’ve also plenty of times seen it (and received it) without any prior warning, and it absolutely warms my heart to see it.

You have so many absolutely bonkers ideas, but like, in the fun way! All of your aus and designs are extremely creative, and you execute them perfectly. Sometimes, things don’t look like they should work as an au, but you tie everything in so tightly and make sure it does, and it’s always a delightful surprise to see. It’s so fun to read your writing, as it’s got a genre of ideas that are so different from the norm but work so well the way you execute it.

And good god. Your ART. You manage to plant (ha) an image directly from your brain and onto the page in a way I’ve seen NOBODY ELSE do before. Seeing your speedpaints only serves to baffle me more on how you manage to do this— You seem to have exactly an idea of what you want to see and visualize it in its entirety before you even start the drawing, and then you transfer it directly onto the page. With nothing but the LASSO FILL TOOL sometimes. No sketch???? Huh???????? My mind is still utterly blown on how you manage to pull that off, but you DO, and it always turns into an absolutely stunning piece. It always looks like you know exactly how to make colors and lighting work in tandem with each other, and know what colors you’re wanting before you start. I am forever wondering how you’ve managed to get such a good grasp on it!

All in all, I think this even undersells a bit how cool you are, cause I doubt I could put it really properly into words. I look up to you as an artist, and you forever inspire me with the things you do. Keep it up, my guy, it’s so so wonderful to see

As educator and philosopher Nel Noddings put it, "The student is infinitely more important than the subject matter." Noddings pioneered the idea of an "Ethics of care" in education, i.e. the responsibility of recognizing the needs of others and addressing those needs with competence, responsiveness, and respect.

It seems obvious to say, but the goal of education and educational structures should be learning. Used responsibly, attendance can be a tool to support equity-- if students are repeatedly missing class, that's an opportunity to reach out to them, ask if there are unseen obstacles to their learning (cf. Devon Price's Laziness Does Not Exist), and work with students to help address them if so.

When attendance itself becomes the goal, rather than a structure to support learning, something's gone wrong.

When I say “school should be disability accessible”, I don’t just mean we need handicap rails and EAs. Kids should be able to miss a day without failing out of school. You shouldn’t be dismissed from clubs because your attendance record is “spotty” (true story). I once missed an entire week of school because of a terrible, unending migraine. I was expected to keep up with my studies despite the blinding pain that came with working on my computer. When I heard my teachers say that you couldn’t miss exams, I asked what I would have to do to be excused from them. Their response? “Either get a doctor’s note an hour before the exam or death of an immediate family member.”

I cannot express how rigid this expectation was. First of all, with my condition, I wouldn’t have enough warning about my sickness to go to the doctor and request a note. For many people, this is exceptionally difficult, especially with the current shortage of medical professionals. Next, it ignores the fact that my schedule may not line with theirs because of my medical needs. Once, I had to visit a hospital a province away (which I was on the waiting list of for over a year) on the same day as an exam. I begged my mother not to take me because I was so nervous that I would be marked as an automatic fail. I was lucky enough to make it work, but that’s only because of my spectacular support system consisting of family members and wonderful doctors.

Disabilities aren’t always about needing a bus that can accommodate wheelchairs. It’s already difficult enough for many of us to maintain school attendance without the harsh punishments involved for skipping a day. We need to be able to miss school without being punished. Only than can you claim that the school is “accessible”

urgent help!

as you guys know my grandparents got scammed almost a month ago, some man told them he was going to send them medical equipment they needed for $500 dollars, we were desperate, not only they lost all the money they had, my grandpa has gotten significantly worse, he's starting to lose vision in his good eye and my grandma is losing mobility as well (evidence), I know I sound annoying always coming here and begging for money for my grandparents and for my college, I don't know how to anticipate the grief, losing my grandpa everyday to his illness, losing my college education cause I can't afford it, in México the situation it's just getting worse and even though I feel lonely I have found a community here and I'm forever grateful for that, even a dollar goes a long way and all the money will go to their medical needs since I'm very sure I won't be able to cover college expenses, please share and donate if you can, you can help via p*ypal or any way you want through ko-fi, here's the link! 💕 thank you sm
